Official Certification Process

The American Double Dutch League is always in need of officials to volunteer to help judge competitions on the local and national level.  Previous jumpers, parents, volunteers are welcome to apply.  To apply for any position as a Trainee, the official must have served at least three years in that position on the state level.

 

  1. The State/Regional Representative must verify the applicant's date.

  2. If the applicant is accepted he/she must train with a certified official at the World Championship Elimination Round.  All officials must be certified in order to work as an Entry level official at the World Championship.  To become a certified official, each individual must attend the ADDL Conference and pass the exam administered for the position they wish to attain.

  3. ADDL Certification is valid for three years, however, in order to remain in good standing, the official must attend the Bi-Annual Conference and work at the World Championship Tournament every year.

Qualifications For Becoming A Master Judge

 

  1.    10 years experience as a World
        Championship Judge

  2.     Valid ADDL Cerfitication

  3.     Successful completion of a practicum.

 

The amount of time and the requirements to become a certified master official vary with each position.  Each official must successfully complete each stage of the certification process in order to move to the next level.

To become a master floor judge or scorekeeper, the official must serve 1 year as a trainee, 2 years on the Entry level and 2 years on the Intermediate level.

To become a master counter, the official must serve 1 year as a trainee, 2 years on the Entry level, 1 year on the Intermediate level and 2 years as a "A" Position judge.
